Almost every race vehicle now uses some carbon fibre components, with it's
advantages of being lighter and stronger than steel. Many people claim that their
strain gauges can be applied to composites in the same manner as bonding to
metallic materials.

The system that we have developed uses a different type of adhesive and strain
gauge, so that the gauge becomes part of the component rather than being
adhered to the surface. This leads to improved bonding strength, reliability and
performance under high and fast loads.
